COMMERCIAL BUILDING - METRO STATION

Ontario Metro Station

Thermal assessment for two new stations in an existing dense urban environment, on the new Ontario Line subway, which is expected to have nearly 400,000 daily boardings in Canada’s largest city.  Collaboration with COWI, one of the prime consultants to Ontario Transit Group (OTG), for the design of two of the new stations, King-Bathurst and Queen-Spadina, on the Ontario Line South portion of the contract. Review of ventilation strategies at stations to minimize energy consumption and maintenance and avoid air conditioning of public spaces while maintaining passenger thermal comfort.

Dynamic thermal comfort analysis with 3D modelling of two Metro stations, and review in respect to compliance criteria. The aim is to ensure that appropriate thermal comfort levels are achieved through design and controls, to maintain a thermally comfortable environment for occupants within the station.
