Babraham Research Center- Jonas Webb Building

Babraham Bioscience Technologies commissioned the renewal of the EPC for the Jonas Webb Building, a chemistry-focused facility accommodating Cancer Research Technology’s drug discovery operations. A new dynamic simulation model (DSM Level 5) was developed in IESVE using the PDF layouts to construct the building geometry. 

Mechanical and electrical services were entered into the model based on the provided schematics, layouts, and O&M manuals to ensure an accurate representation of the installed systems. Floor areas, zoning, and usage assumptions were validated against existing documentation, including the previous EPC and BRUKL benchmarking data. An IES model tracker was completed in Excel to document inputs, assumptions and modelling decisions, supporting the delivery of the EPC renewal ahead of the deadline.
